Branding a SaaS startup can cost as little as $1,500 or as much as $125,000. To see what agencies actually charge, a SaaS company sent the same brief, a brand refresh written up in a brand book, to 57 design agencies. Half of them quoted less than $15,300. About four in ten came in under $10,000, and one in four asked for more than $25,000.
That brief left out a new logo, so treat those prices as the starting point. A full brand identity, a rebrand with a new name, or a brand that has to work across your website and product all cost more, and the published prices of 14 branding agencies that work with startups show how much more.
Already know what you need? Here's where each kind of branding starts, or jump to the agency price table.
TL;DR
- Brand refresh: half of 57 design agencies quoted under $15,300 for the same refresh brief, which left out a new logo. Quotes ran from $1,500 to $125,000.
- Full brand identity: a logo, identity system and guidelines applied to real assets starts at about $20,000 to $25,000 at startup-focused agencies such as The Branx, Condensed and Bricx.
- Rebrand cost: three in four agencies quoted a refresh under $25,000. A strategy-led rebrand starts at $50,000 at Ramotion, Together and Clay, and at $100,000 at Motto.
- What moves the price: whether the logo and naming are in scope, how many assets the brand is applied to, whether the website is rebuilt and how the agency bills.
- How long branding takes: most refreshes take 4 to 8 weeks. Foundation's sprint takes 10 working days, and Ramotion's full brand creation takes 10 to 18 weeks.
- Branding budget: a refresh or sprint before product-market fit, a full identity when raising or selling to bigger buyers, and a strategy-led rebrand when repositioning.
Branding prices by scope
What you pay depends mostly on what you're buying. A documentation-only refresh, a two-week sprint and a strategy-led rebrand are three different jobs, and agencies price them that way.

| What you buy | What it usually covers | What it costs (real prices) |
|---|---|---|
| Brand refresh, documented | New colours, typography and brand elements written up in a brand book, no new logo | $1,500 to $125,000 across 57 agencies; half quoted under $15,300 |
| Brand sprint | A focused identity in days or a few weeks | Foundation's Brand Sprint is £10,000 (ex VAT) for 10 working days. Ramotion's brand sprint is $50,000 over 6 weeks |
| Full brand identity | Logo, identity system, guidelines and the identity applied to real assets | The Branx charges $22,700 for a brand identity in 3 weeks. Condensed quotes $20,000 to $50,000. Bricx starts at $25,000 for 4 to 6 weeks |
| Strategy-led rebrand | Positioning and narrative first, sometimes naming, then the identity | Motto starts at $100,000, with a Flagship rebrand taking 16 to 24 weeks. Together and Clay start at $50,000 |
What branding agencies charge SaaS startups
Branding agency pricing for startups runs from a fixed £10,000 sprint to programmes that start at $100,000. These are the published starting prices and timelines of the 14 agencies in our list of branding agencies for startups.
| Agency | Starting price | Typical timeline |
|---|---|---|
| Bricx | $25,000 for brand work | Identity sprint in 2 to 3 weeks; full identity in 4 to 6 weeks; brand plus website in 8 to 10 weeks |
| The Branx | $22,700 for a brand identity | 3 weeks; identity plus a five-page website in 6 weeks |
| Focus Lab | $15,000 a month for Focused Branding, for 1 to 3 months | 6-week sprint; comprehensive branding in 9 to 12 weeks |
| Foundation | £10,000 Brand Sprint (ex VAT) | 10 working days |
| Condensed | $20,000 to $50,000 for startup branding | Set per project, after a 1 to 2 month waitlist |
| Ramotion | $50,000 for a brand sprint | Sprint in 6 weeks; full brand creation in 10 to 18 weeks |
| Together | $50,000+ | Set in each proposal |
| Clay | $50,000+ | Set in each proposal |
| Motto | $100,000+ | 8 to 12 weeks for FastTrack; 16 to 24 weeks for a Flagship rebrand |
| Red Antler, Ragged Edge, Koto, Pentagram, Instrument | Scoped per project | Set in each proposal |
Why branding quotes range from $1,500 to $125,000
The highest quote is more than 80 times the lowest, because each agency is pricing a different amount of work. Six things move the price most:
| What changes | How it moves the price |
|---|---|
| The logo | The 57 refresh quotes left it out. Some agencies, Bricx included, quote a new mark as its own line item |
| Naming | A rename adds a whole workstream. Ramotion runs naming as a three to eight week project |
| Applications | An identity shown on a deck, website and product screens costs more than one shown on colour swatches |
| The website | The Branx sells an identity alone in 3 weeks, or with a five-page site in 6. At Bricx, rebuilding the site adds 4 to 6 weeks, partly in parallel |
| Documented or applied | A brand book costs less than an identity tested on real assets. The author of the 57-agency study wouldn't pay more than $3,000 to $5,000 for documentation alone |
| Billing | Foundation sells a fixed-price sprint, Focus Lab bills by the month and most others quote per project |
That's why a typical $15,300 refresh quote and Bricx's $25,000 starting price don't conflict. The refresh buys a brand book, while Bricx's projects cover strategy, the identity system and the identity applied to real pages, decks and product screens.
What's in a branding package for a SaaS company
A full branding package for a SaaS company has five parts:
| Part | What you get |
|---|---|
| Strategy and naming | Positioning, audience and the competitors buyers compare you with, plus the name when it's in question |
| Visual directions | Several directions before anything is final. Bricx shows three or four |
| Logo and identity system | Marks, lockups, type, colour and how they behave at every size |
| Guidelines and asset kit | The rules and files your team needs to stay on brand. Bricx adds a design MD file that AI tools can read |
| The brand in use | The identity on the website, in a deck, in the product and in motion |

For Hobbes, an AI demo platform, the rebrand ran from the mark to billboards, business cards, an app icon and a brand sheet for the team. Hobbes' CEO, Chirag Kulkarni, said the team "leaned in heavily on all aspects of our brand." For CAMB.AI, the brand and the product experience were designed together.
How much does a rebrand cost for a SaaS company?
A rebrand that refreshes the identity without a new name or logo usually costs under $25,000, since three in four of the 57 agencies quoted below that. A full identity starts around $20,000 to $25,000 at startup-focused agencies, and a strategy-led rebrand runs from $50,000 to past $100,000.
| Brand refresh | Full rebrand | |
|---|---|---|
| When it fits | The positioning still holds but the look has drifted | The company has changed underneath the brand |
| Common signs | Colours, type and elements used differently everywhere | A founder-made logo in front of enterprise buyers, or a look that matches every competitor |
| What it costs | Half of 57 agencies quoted under $15,300 | $20,000 to $25,000 for a full identity, $50,000+ when strategy leads |
| How long it takes | Usually 4 to 8 weeks | 3 to 24 weeks, depending on the agency |
If a raise or a launch is weeks away, a sprint is the realistic option. Bricx runs an identity sprint in 2 to 3 weeks, and Foundation runs a Brand Sprint in 10 working days.
How long does branding take?
Most brand refreshes take 4 to 8 weeks. Of the 57 agencies, about four in ten could deliver in under four weeks and fewer than one in ten needed longer than eight.

Published timelines from branding agencies run from Foundation's 10-day sprint to 10 to 18 weeks for full brand creation at Ramotion.
How to set a branding budget for a SaaS startup
Set the budget by what the brand has to do at your stage. The author of the 57-agency study puts it plainly: an early-stage startup shouldn't spend long on branding, and a company that's scaling should put real time into it.
| Stage | What to buy | What it costs |
|---|---|---|
| Before product-market fit | A refresh or a short sprint | Four in ten agencies quoted a refresh under $10,000. Foundation's sprint is £10,000 |
| Raising or selling to bigger buyers | A full identity applied to the website, deck and product | From $20,000 to $25,000 at The Branx, Condensed and Bricx |
| Repositioning or moving upmarket | A strategy-led rebrand | From $50,000 at Ramotion, Together and Clay, and $100,000 at Motto |
Budget for the website too if it will be rebuilt on the new brand. The website redesign cost guide covers that side of the budget.
Should you hire a branding agency, a freelancer or use AI?
Use AI tools for free first drafts, a freelancer for a defined job such as a logo or a refresh, and a branding agency when you need strategy, a full identity system and the brand applied across your website and product. That last option starts around $20,000 to $25,000 at startup-focused agencies.
| Option | Pick it when you need | What it costs |
|---|---|---|
| AI tools | Logo ideas and first drafts to react to before you brief anyone | Free or close to it |
| Freelance designer | A new logo, or a refresh of an identity you already have | Quoted per project |
| Branding agency | Positioning, a full identity system and the brand applied to your website, deck and product | Half of 57 agencies quoted a refresh under $15,300, and a full identity starts around $20,000 to $25,000 |
The catch with the first two is scope. AI can't decide how the company should be read, and strategy, naming and a full rollout are a lot to ask of one freelancer's hours.
Bricx's view is that AI handles the first drafts well and the last ten percent is still the difference, which is why it hands over a design MD file the team's AI tools can keep using. For the same call on product work, read UX agency vs freelancer.
How to compare branding quotes
Before you compare prices, make sure the quotes cover the same work. Ask each agency:
- Is a new logo included, or quoted separately?
- Is naming in scope?
- How many brand directions will we see, and on what real assets?
- Which applications are included: website, deck, product screens, social, motion?
- What's in the guidelines, and do we get the source files and fonts?
- How many revision rounds are included?
- Is the website build part of the price, or a separate project?
For process, feedback and support after launch, use these questions to ask a design agency before hiring.
What branding with Bricx looks like
Bricx is a branding agency for B2B and AI SaaS startups, from seed stage through Series C, and it's rated 5.0 on Clutch across 32 reviews. Here's some of its recent brand work:
CAMB.AI · rebrand across brand, product and website
Hobbes · rebrand for an AI demo platform
Digit · brand system and website for a cloud ERP
Billdr · brand and website for an AI OS for contractorsEvery project follows the same path:
- Strategy first. Positioning, audience and the competitors buyers judge you against, plus the name when it's in question. Bricx won't redraw a logo while a rename is still open, because the work would get paid for twice.
- Three or four directions. Each is shown on a real homepage, deck and product screens. You comment straight into the Figma file, and one direction gets locked.
- Applied, then written down. The identity goes onto real assets first, and the guidelines are written afterwards from what worked.
- Everything handed over. A brand book, an asset kit, deck and email templates and a design MD file the team's AI tools can read, with every source file yours.
- Motion included. From how the mark moves to how the brand reads in a product video.
An identity sprint takes 2 to 3 weeks with one senior designer, a full identity 4 to 6 weeks with a designer and a lead, and brand plus website 8 to 10 weeks with an engineer added. Projects start at $25,000, and Bricx isn't the right fit for non-software businesses or smaller budgets.
The brand identity page covers the full process, and the branding agencies for startups guide compares Bricx with 13 other agencies. To talk through scope and budget for your own brand, book a strategy call with the team.
FAQs
How much should a SaaS startup spend on branding?
Match it to your stage. Before product-market fit, a refresh or a sprint is enough, and four in ten agencies quoted a refresh under $10,000. Once you're raising or selling to bigger buyers, a full identity starts around $20,000 to $25,000, and repositioning starts at $50,000.
We're raising in a few weeks. What branding can we get done before the round?
A sprint. Foundation's Brand Sprint is £10,000 for 10 working days and Bricx's identity sprint takes 2 to 3 weeks, while a full identity takes 3 weeks at The Branx and 4 to 6 at Bricx.
Our founder designed the logo. Do we need a full rebrand or just a new logo?
A new logo fixes the mark, and a full rebrand is for when the company has changed underneath it, such as a move from early adopters to enterprise buyers. Some agencies, Bricx included, quote the logo separately, so you can price both before deciding.
Is $500 enough for a SaaS startup's logo?
It's below what agencies charge for brand work: the lowest of 57 quotes for a brand refresh was $1,500, and that didn't include a logo. A $500 logo can hold you over early on, but it won't come with the system that keeps your deck, website and product consistent.
Can we design our logo with ChatGPT instead of hiring a designer?
For ideas, yes, and it's free or close to it. It won't decide how the company should be read or build the system that keeps every asset consistent, and that's the part you'd hire a designer for.
What should a SaaS brand pack include?
Logo versions and lockups, colour and type specs, guidelines, and templates for decks, social and the website, plus how the brand looks on product screens. Bricx adds a design MD file so the team's AI tools can produce on-brand work.
Does branding include the website, or should we redesign it separately?
It depends on the agency. The Branx sells an identity alone in 3 weeks or with a five-page site in 6, and Bricx designed the brand and the website together for Billdr and Digit.
We're moving upmarket to enterprise buyers. What does that rebrand cost?
A strategy-led rebrand starts at $50,000 at Ramotion, Together and Clay, and at $100,000 at Motto. If only the identity needs to grow up, a full identity starts around $20,000 to $25,000.
Do branding agencies work on a retainer or per project?
Both. Focus Lab bills $15,000 a month for 1 to 3 months, Foundation sells a fixed-price sprint and most others quote per project. Bricx works on fixed-scope projects or a monthly retainer.
We're a small business, not a SaaS startup. Do these prices still apply?
Partly. The quotes answered a SaaS company's brief, but the same brief drew quotes from $1,500 to $125,000, so for any business, compare quotes on scope before price.
