If you're reading a Phenomenon Studio review, you're probably weighing it as the team to design and build your product, and you want three answers before you book a call: what it really costs, whether its clients are happy, and whether it fits a company like yours.
Here's the short version. Phenomenon Studio is a credible design and development agency, founded in 2019, with a 5.0 rating across 52 Clutch reviews. Its published starting prices run from $2,000 for a UX audit to $40,000 for a custom MVP.
It's at its best when one team needs to design and build a web or mobile product, especially in healthcare, fintech or education. If you run a B2B SaaS company, the two things to check are how its designers hand work to its developers and how much SaaS work like yours it has shipped.
I've hired designers and sold design and build work to SaaS founders, but I haven't hired Phenomenon Studio. Everything below comes from its site, its Clutch reviews and a benchmark of 57 design agencies. You'll find the full price list, how the engineering side works, what clients praise and flag, and the alternative worth comparing if you're a funded SaaS team.
Phenomenon Studio review in 60 seconds
- What Phenomenon Studio is: a product design and development agency founded in 2019, with offices in Tallinn, Lugano and Dover, Delaware. It designs and builds web apps, mobile apps and websites.
- Pricing: starting prices run from $2,000 for a UX audit to $40,000 for a custom MVP, and a dedicated specialist starts at $8,000 a month. Design and development are priced separately.
- Design and build: React, Next.js and TypeScript are in-house, with designers and developers on the same team.
- Fit for SaaS: most of its Clutch work is in healthcare, education and fintech, alongside SaaS products like Isora and Artisan.
- Clutch reviews: 5.0 across 52 reviews. Clients praise timely delivery most, and a few flag handover detail.
- Who should hire it: teams that want one vendor to design and build a product, especially in a regulated industry.
- Best Phenomenon Studio alternative for B2B SaaS: Bricx, which works only with software companies and builds what it designs, with projects starting at $25,000.
Who is Phenomenon Studio?
Phenomenon Studio is a product design and development agency for scaling and regulated companies, founded in 2019 by Valerii Filimonov and Polina Chebanova. Its team page lists Yuliia A. as CEO.
The team spans Canada, the US, Ukraine, Poland, Estonia and Switzerland. Client-facing strategy and product leads sit in North America and Switzerland, and design and development happen in Europe.

There's one piece of company history worth knowing. In March 2025, the design firm Polyform announced in its newsletter that it had become Phenomenon Studio's North American office after four years of working together, with a combined team of 65+ designers, engineers and developers at the time.
Phenomenon Studio's site doesn't mention Polyform, so ask who your North American contact will be.

A quick note on the name: Phenomenon Studio (phenomenonstudio.com) isn't the Los Angeles creative company Phenomenon (phenomenon.com), which Built In LA lists as founded in 2006. Search results often mix the two up.
What this review is based on
I haven't hired Phenomenon Studio, so every claim here comes from sources I could check myself:
- Phenomenon Studio's site: the pricing, about, team, services, web development and SaaS design pages, plus its published case studies
- Its Clutch profile: the scores, the rate card, the service and industry mix, and the individual reviews, including what clients said could be better
- Public search: Polyform's announcement, plus searches of Reddit and of the founders' public LinkedIn activity. I found no Reddit threads about Phenomenon Studio and no recent founder posts that added a checkable fact, so neither appears below.
- Market benchmarks: every comparison to "the market" comes from The State of UI/UX Design Agencies 2026, a study of 57 design agencies that were each sent the same website and MVP brief. It records what each agency quoted, how it would staff the work and how long it said delivery would take.
Figures I could only find on Phenomenon Studio's site are flagged as unverified, and where its pages disagree with each other or with Clutch, I point it out.
Phenomenon Studio pricing: what the published rates cover
Phenomenon Studio lists a starting price and a starting duration for each service. Treat them as floors, not quotes:
| Service | Starts at | Takes at least |
|---|---|---|
| UX audit | $2,000 | 1 week |
| Product discovery | $4,000 | 2 weeks |
| Branding | $4,000 | 2 weeks |
| Website design | $6,000 | 3 weeks |
| Website redesign | $9,000 | 4 weeks |
| Web app design | $13,000 | 6 weeks |
| Website development | $13,000 | 6 weeks |
| Product redesign | $15,000 | 8 weeks |
| Rapid MVP development | $20,000 | 5 weeks |
| Web app development | $26,000 | 12 weeks |
| Mobile app development | $26,000 | 12 weeks |
| Custom MVP development | $40,000 | 8 weeks |
| Dedicated team or team extension | $8,000 a month per specialist | Ongoing |

The catch is that design and development are separate line items. A website designed and built by Phenomenon Studio starts at about $19,000 once you add both floors, and a web app at about $39,000 before any product discovery.
Where a project lands above those floors depends on page count, content and integrations, which this breakdown of website redesign cost covers in more detail.
Missing contract terms and two pricing contradictions
The pricing page doesn't cover payment terms, minimum commitments, cancellation or IP ownership, and the FAQ page doesn't answer those questions either. Get all four in writing.
Two inconsistencies are worth raising on the first call, alongside the usual questions to ask a UX design agency before you hire it:
- Minimum project. Clutch shows a $10,000 minimum, yet several services start between $2,000 and $9,000.
- Dedicated team. The SaaS page describes it with a "clear scope, fixed timeline", while the pricing page calls the same model a predictable monthly cost instead of project-by-project pricing.
Design and build under one roof: how the engineering side works
This is the reason most SaaS teams shortlist Phenomenon Studio, so it deserves a close look.
The web development page puts it as "We design for implementation, not handoff," with strategy, design and development working together under one roof. The published stack backs that up:
- Front end: React, Next.js, Solid.js, Astro and TypeScript
- Back end: Node.js, NestJS and Laravel
- Team: a lead front-end engineer, plus front-end, back-end and full-stack developers on the team page
- Case studies: a New Zealand fintech payments project in Next.js, TypeScript and React Redux, the Bliss Creek admin panel in React, Next and Tailwind CSS, and the AdFlux redesign in React and TypeScript
That matters, because among the 57 agencies benchmarked, only 55% of agencies had their own developers. The other 45% handed builds to an outside partner, which leaves you managing two vendors when the design and the code don't match.
Two things to check:
- Who stays on after design. Strategy leads sit in North America and Switzerland, while designers and developers work in Europe. Ask whether the designer on your project reviews the build.
- How handover works with your developers. Two Clutch reviewers raised it. A Maven Clinic reviewer wrote that "The initial technical handover lacked detail", and added that the team fixed it quickly by building a knowledge base with their DevOps leads. PopSmart Academy's founder said Phenomenon Studio "could have looped our frontend developers into technical design workshops about two weeks earlier."
The site also claims 80% of the team are senior specialists and that no juniors work on client projects. I couldn't verify that figure.
Is Phenomenon Studio a good fit for SaaS companies?
It has real SaaS work, but SaaS is one of several markets rather than its main one. According to its site, clients have raised over $500M from investors such as YC, Techstars and a16z, and the average client comes back for a second project. The SaaS case studies are the strongest proof:
- Isora by SaltyCloud, a governance, risk and compliance platform: a UX audit, product redesign, web development and team extension over 12 months and counting, with user workflows reported 2x faster
- Artisan, an AI sales agent startup: a UX audit and website redesign, with 20+ marketing pages shipped in under a month
- AdFlux, a marketing platform: a five-month product redesign, with campaign launches reported 60% faster

Outside SaaS, the portfolio leans toward health and education. Wisdom, a healthtech product for older adults, won a Red Dot award in app design, and Clutch reviewers include Maven Clinic, MasterClass, Divvy Homes, Physitrack, Numan and Infermedica.
Clutch's industry breakdown puts medical at 35%, education at 25% and financial services at 25%, and SaaS isn't listed as its own category. The reviews also include a restaurant site, a school website, a realtor app and a golf community site. If deep product work for software is what you need, compare it against the best product design agencies before you shortlist.
One thing to ask about: the +35% "Add money" conversion lift for a New Zealand fintech is credited to KlickEx in some places on the site and to Nomupay in another. It may be the same project under two names, but ask which client it was before you rely on it.
Working with Phenomenon Studio: process, team and time zones
Phenomenon Studio sells its work in stages called Research, Launch, Evolve, Rebrand and Extend. Pieced together from its services and SaaS pages, a typical engagement runs like this:
- Discovery through product discovery, a UX audit or a technical workshop, which opens every engagement.
- An optional one-week UI/UX trial to validate a dashboard, an onboarding flow or one feature "at a founder-friendly rate". No price is published.
- Design, covering wireframes, prototypes, usability testing and UI, with tokens and components built for developers.
- Development in two-week sprints, with functionality, load, browser and security testing.
- Support after launch, including monitoring, bug fixes and new features.
Communication runs through Slack, Figma, Jira and Notion. That's standard: every one of those 57 agencies named Slack and Figma, and over 90% mixed daily async updates with one or two weekly calls.
The thing to plan around is the clock. Three Clutch reviewers mentioned time zone differences, and with design and development in Europe, a US team gets good overlap in its morning and much less after lunch.
Phenomenon Studio reviews on Clutch
Phenomenon Studio holds a 5.0 average across 52 verified reviews on Clutch:
| Clutch score | Rating |
|---|---|
| Quality | 5.0 |
| Schedule | 5.0 |
| Cost | 4.9 |
| Willing to refer | 5.0 |

Timely delivery is the most mentioned strength (19 mentions), followed by communication (13) and the quality of the work (12). Project management and value for money come up too. The review closest to a B2B SaaS buyer is a rebrand and website redesign for a SaaS company in Seattle:

Source: Clutch review by an executive at Twinkle Technologies, dated October 10, 2025.
Most reviewers didn't name anything to improve, so the criticism is thin. Where it does appear, it falls into a few themes:
- Handover and documentation: the two quotes above, plus requests for more training material after launch
- Attention to detail: in a 2020 review, one client said a fix landed on one screen but not another
- Time zones: mentioned by three reviewers
- Direction: one reviewer wanted more creative ideas, and another wanted more focus on business metrics

Source: Clutch review by the founder and CEO of PopSmart Academy, dated September 4, 2026.
Strengths and weaknesses
| Strengths | Weaknesses |
|---|---|
| Designers and developers in-house, including React and Next.js | SaaS isn't a category in its Clutch industry mix |
| A published starting price for nearly every service | Design and build are priced separately, so the floors add up |
| 5.0 from 52 Clutch reviews | Contract terms and IP ownership aren't on the pricing page |
| Case studies with numbers, plus a Red Dot win | One result is credited to two different client names |
| Mobile, back-end and AI work alongside product design | Handover detail and documentation come up in reviews |
| $50 to $99 an hour, in line with the market median | The Clutch minimum conflicts with the lower starting prices |
Should you hire Phenomenon Studio?
Hire Phenomenon Studio if you need a product designed and built by one team, and especially if:
- you're building a web or mobile product in healthcare, fintech or education, where most of its Clutch work sits
- you need back-end, mobile or AI development alongside the design
- you want published starting prices to set a budget before the first call
Look elsewhere if:
- you're a B2B or AI SaaS company that wants a partner working only with software companies
- you want a senior design lead who owns product and brand direction through the build
- your website, brand and product need to launch together around a fundraise
My overall take: Phenomenon Studio is a credible design and build shop with public pricing, an in-house engineering team and a spotless Clutch record.
The open question for a B2B SaaS buyer is focus. Ask who leads design on your project, whether that person stays through the build, and how many B2B SaaS products like yours the team has shipped in the last year.
The Best Phenomenon Studio Alternative for B2B SaaS: Bricx
If what gave you pause above was the space between design and build, with two price floors to add up and Clutch reviewers asking for a smoother handover to their own developers, Bricx is set up to close that gap for software companies.
Bricx is a premium design partner for B2B and AI SaaS companies that treat design taste as a moat. It works only with software companies, and design engineering is part of every project, so the team that designs the website or product also builds it, in production React and Next.js, Webflow or Framer.
Thrust shows what that looks like on a product. One Bricx team took it from brand identity through product and mobile design to a working Web3 MVP, without a second vendor picking up the build.

Bricx branded and built Thrust's gamified Web3 MVP. Read the Thrust case study.
On the B2B side, Bricx designed the product experience for Hobbes, an AI-driven demo platform for B2B software, and the Hobbes product UX case study walks through how it came together. Product redesigns like that are led by a fractional design lead with a senior designer on 3 or 6 month engagements.
Teams that would rather keep designers inside their own sprints, the job Phenomenon Studio's team extension does, can use design team extension instead.
For marketing sites, every website redesign includes the build. Bricx holds a 5.0 rating on Clutch across 32 reviews, and one of the most recent comes from the CTO of Podqi, an IP protection software company that had Bricx design and build its marketing website. Clutch's summary mentions the finished site and the team's time management.

A 5.0 Clutch review of Bricx from the CTO at Podqi, Aug 2026. Read the full review on Clutch.
Beyond websites and product, Bricx handles design systems and motion and launch videos. It runs fixed-scope projects, monthly retainers, embedded teams and paid pilot sprints, has shipped 50+ websites for software companies over the last two years, and is a Webflow Certified Partner and a Framer Expert.
Pricing: Bricx projects start at $25,000.
Not a fit for: non-software businesses and budgets under $25,000.
